Dr Siobhán Kelleher and Sinéad Hughes are researchers in the Translational Medical Device Laboratory in National University of Ireland, Galway, developing health technologies to address unmet clinical needs in female health.
The World Endometriosis Organisations will strive for better understanding of the disease, improved treatment and management and will combine their strengths to make the world of difference to those with the disease, their families, communities as well as working with governments and health decision makers to bring about legislative change.

“When you’re a teenager, you don’t necessarily realise that that level of pain is abnormal. Even if you do, you approach your GP and your GP is going to say ‘look, you’re too young to have Endometriosis, it’s not that or it couldn’t be that’ and we’re still seeing women being dismissed.”
