EAI presentation on gender bias in healthcare at Science Week Event
We were invited to speak at “Bias: Gender Inequality in Healthcare and Research” on 13th November 2020. This was a Science Week event supported and developed by RCSI/Rotunda Research Department and the HRB Mother and Baby Clinical Trials Network. The event was funded by Science Foundation Ireland.
Jeanne Sutton represented the EAI. As part of her presentation – from 11:40 minutes on - she spoke about the potential of menstrual health education programmes, which they have in New Zealand, Australia and England. She talked about how they can tackle misinformation around endometriosis and empower people to recognise symptoms.
