I had surgery in London that was paid in full by Laya. Got a letter from my GP, my medical records and then went to see consultant and had an ultrasound. Following that I sent a letter to Laya along with GP referral, scan, letter from UK consultant and my medical records. Spoke to a nurse via phone and then got approval for surgery. Laya paid the hospital fee directly but I had to pay for surgeon and anaesthetist and then claim it back.
Stayed in hospital 2 nights, then an apartment for another 5 before flying home (surgeon requested a stay of min 1 week). I was warned that bowel complications could add another 30k, so be prepared for extra costs. The journey home was straightforward as I felt way better than expected, didn’t even need painkillers.
