Hi there. There is a standard Vhi ‘prior approval for treatment abroad’ form. It’s very much geared towards the referring consultant to give their opinion on why you should be treated abroad and the evidence or facts that supports you going abroad. They really will only review the case if there is medical necessity established by your Irish referring consultant. If you call them and tell them you are looking into treatment abroad, they will be able to send you a copy of the form or show you where you can download it (I cant remember which option they gave me). You can bring that into your consultant and take it from there.
