Hi @laurak
Apologies it has taken me a while to get back in to answer everyone, some surgeons feel that there is no benefit on using excision on stage 1/2 patients or on superficial lesions. The eveidence is poor in the scientific literature due to the lack of randomised controlled trials and also variable surgical skills in the cases assessed. When we speak with surgeons who have dedicated their lives work to endometriosis – they tell us that ablation is not sufficient and can lead to additional problems.
I have not had personal experience with Dr Moss, but have spoken to patients in which she has used ablation and hormonal treatments. I do not know if she uses excision. I have not seen a report on any of her patients that have used it.
There are some questions on http://www.endometriosis.ie/questions-for-your-surgeon to help with your appt or follow up with Dr Moss.
